What information Megvite collects when you use our virtual care service, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Effective October 11, 2026

Information we collect

We collect the information you give us and the information created while you receive care.

  • Account details such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth and billing ZIP code.
  • Health information you share in your intake, in messages and during visits.
  • Records your provider creates, including visit notes, care plans, prescriptions and lab orders and results.
  • Payment details, which our payment processor handles. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Basic technical data such as device type, browser and the pages you use, so the service works and stays secure.

How we use it

We use your information to provide and coordinate your care, to run your account and your access to your clinic, to keep the service secure, and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal or health information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Video visits and recordings

Video visits run through your browser. A visit is recorded only when you are told beforehand and agree. You can decline recording and still have your visit.

Recordings and transcripts, when made, are kept with your medical record and are available only to you and authorized members of your practice.

When we share information

We share information only as needed to provide care or as the law requires.

  • With the clinicians and practice members treating you.
  • With pharmacies, to fill prescriptions your provider sends.
  • With labs, to process tests your provider orders.
  • With service providers who host, secure or bill for the service, under agreements that limit their use of your information.
  • When required by law, or to protect someone from serious harm.

How we protect it

Connections to Megvite are encrypted. Access to health records is limited to people who need it for your care or to operate the service, and access is logged.

No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see or get a copy of your records, ask us to correct information you believe is wrong, and ask how your information has been shared. Some requests have legal limits, and we will explain them if they apply.

You can update account details in your portal settings and choose which notifications you receive.

How long we keep it

Medical records are kept for the period required by law. Other account data is kept while your account is open and for a limited time after, unless the law requires longer.

Children

Megvite accounts are for adults 18 and older. A parent or legal guardian must manage care for anyone younger.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and tell you in your portal.

Questions or requests: team@megvite.com.
